Assistant Manager - Strategic Sourcing

Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with business goals and project requirements.
Identify and evaluate new suppliers, technologies, and materials to enhance supply chain performance and cost-effectiveness.
Lead cost reduction, value engineering, and localization initiatives.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and SLAs with suppliers to achieve best value.
Monitor supplier performance in terms of quality, delivery, compliance, and capacity.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, manufacturing, quality, logistics) to meet sourcing and production timelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, pricing dynamics, and supply risks in relevant categories.
Drive compliance with internal procurement policies, documentation, and audit requirements.
Manage supplier audits, evaluations, and corrective actions in coordination with QA/Engineering teams.
Qualifications
BE in Mechanical Engineering is mandatory.
7–10 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, preferably in engineering/manufacturing industries.
Strong exposure to sourcing of mechanical components, fabrication, casting, machining, and/or OEM/ODM vendors.
Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation, cost analysis, and vendor development.
Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics) and MS Office tools.
Excellent communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
Understanding of lean manufacturing and quality systems (ISO, PPAP, APQP) is an advantage.
Strong communication skills in English, Hindi & Kannada (additional local language will be a plus point)
Ready for frequent travel to supplier visit.
